Well-aligned zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowire arrays were fabricated on gold-coated plastic substrates using a low-temperature aqueous chemical growth (ACG) method. The ZnO nanowire arrays with 50–130 nm diameters and ∼1 μm in lengths were used in an enzyme-based urea sensor through immobilization of the enzyme urease that was found to be sensitive to urea concentrations from 0.1 mM to 100 mM. Two linear sensitivity regions were observed when the electrochemical responses (EMF) of the sensors were plotted vs. the logarithmic concentration range of urea from 0.1 mM to 100 mM. The proposed sensor showed a sensitivity of 52.8 mV/decade for 0.1–40 mM urea and a fast response time less than 4 s was achieved with good selectivity, reproducibility and negligible response to common interferents such as ascorbic acid and uric acid, glucose, K+ and Na+ ions.  相似文献

A numerical study is presented for the two-dimensional flow of a micropolar fluid in a porous channel. The channel walls are of different permeability. The fluid motion is superimposed by the large injection at the two walls and is assumed to be steady, laminar and incompressible. The micropolar model due to Eringen is used to describe the working fluid. The governing equations of motion are reduced to a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations (ODEs) in dimensionless form by using an extension of Berman’s similarity transformations. A numerical algorithm based on finite difference discretization is employed to solve these ODEs. The results obtained are further improved by Richardson’s extrapolation for higher order accuracy. Comparisons with the previously published work are performed and are found to be in a good agreement. It has been observed that the velocity and microrotation profiles change from the most asymmetric shape to the symmetric shape across the channel as the parameter R or the permeability parameter A are varied between their extreme values. The results indicate that larger the injection velocity at a wall relative to the other is, smaller will be the shear stress at it than that at the other. The position of viscous layer has been found to be more sensitive to the permeability parameter A than to the parameter R. The micropolar fluids reduce shear stress and increase couple stress at the walls as compared to the Newtonian fluids.  相似文献

Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANET) are infrastructureless networks where self-configuring mobile nodes are connected by wireless links. Because of its decentralized operation, these nodes rely on each other to store and forward packets. Video transmission over MANETs is more challenging than over conventional wireless networks due to rapid topology changes and lack of central administration. Most of the proposed MANET protocols assume that all nodes are working within a cooperative and friendly network context. However, misbehaving nodes that exhibit abnormal behaviors can disrupt the network operation and affect the network availability by refusing to cooperate to route packets due to their selfish or malicious behavior. In this paper, we examine the effect of packet dropping attacks on video transmission over MANETs. We also study the effects of mitigation using intrusion detection systems to MANET in presence of video traffic. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to study multimedia over such environments. We propose a novel intrusion detection system, which is an adaptive acknowledgment scheme (AACK) with the ability to detect misbehaved nodes and avoid them in other transmissions. The aim of AACK scheme is to overcome watchdog weaknesses due to collisions and limited transmission power and also to improve TWOACK scheme. To demonstrate the performance of our proposed scheme, simulation experiments are performed. The results of our experiments show that MPEG4 is more suitable for our simulation environment than H264 video traffic. The simulation results show that AACK scheme provides better network performance with less overhead than other schemes; it also shows that AACK outperforms both TWOACK and watchdog in video transmission applications in the presence of misbehaving nodes.  相似文献

Recently, compressive sensing (CS) has offered a new framework whereby a signal can be recovered from a small number of noisy non-adaptive samples. This is now an active area of research in many image-processing applications, especially super-resolution. CS algorithms are widely known to be computationally expensive. This paper studies a real time super-resolution reconstruction method based on the compressive sampling matching pursuit (CoSaMP) algorithm for hyperspectral images. CoSaMP is an iterative compressive sensing method based on the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP). Multi-spectral images record enormous volumes of data that are required in practical modern remote-sensing applications. A proposed implementation based on the graphical processing unit (GPU) has been developed for CoSaMP using computed unified device architecture (CUDA) and the cuBLAS library. The CoSaMP algorithm is divided into interdependent parts with respect to complexity and potential for parallelization. The proposed implementation is evaluated in terms of reconstruction error for different state-of-the-art super-resolution methods. Various experiments were conducted using real hyperspectral images collected by Earth Observing-1 (EO-1), and experimental results demonstrate the speeding up of the proposed GPU implementation and compare it to the sequential CPU implementation and state-of-the-art techniques. The speeding up of the GPU-based implementation is up to approximately 70 times faster than the corresponding optimized CPU.  相似文献

Sentiment analysis involves the detection of sentiment content of text using natural language processing. Natural language processing is a very challenging task due to syntactic ambiguities, named entity recognition, use of slangs, jargons, sarcasm, abbreviations and contextual sensitivity. Sentiment analysis can be performed using supervised as well as unsupervised approaches. As the amount of data grows, unsupervised approaches become vital as they cut down on the learning time and the requirements for availability of a labelled dataset. Sentiment lexicons provide an easy application of unsupervised algorithms for text classification. SentiWordNet is a lexical resource widely employed by many researchers for sentiment analysis and polarity classification. However, the reported performance levels need improvement. The proposed research is focused on raising the performance of SentiWordNet3.0 by using it as a labelled corpus to build another sentiment lexicon, named Senti‐CS. The part of speech information, usage based ranks and sentiment scores are used to calculate Chi‐Square‐based feature weight for each unique subjective term/part‐of‐speech pair extracted from SentiWordNet3.0. This weight is then normalized in a range of ?1 to +1 using min–max normalization. Senti‐CS based sentiment analysis framework is presented and applied on a large dataset of 50000 movie reviews. These results are then compared with baseline SentiWordNet, Mutual Information and Information Gain techniques. State of the art comparison is performed for the Cornell movie review dataset. The analyses of results indicate that the proposed approach outperforms state‐of‐the‐art classifiers.  相似文献

The retina is a tiny layer at the posterior pole of an eye and is made up of tissues sensitive to light, these tissues generate nerve signals that pass through the optic nerve to the brain. A retinal disorder occurs when the retina malfunctions; glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and pathologic myopia are retinal disorders and principal causes of blindness worldwide. These retinal disorders are often diagnosed and treated by an ophthalmologist. However, to accurately assess a retinal disease, ophthalmologist would need qualitative and quantitative analysis of the disease, it’s early and current statistics, but acquisition of these measurements are not possible through manual techniques, there should be automated computer aided diagnosis (CAD) systems to assist ophthalmologists. In this comprehensive review, an analysis and evaluation has been performed of different computer vision and image processing approaches applied to OCT images for automatic diagnosis of retinal disorders. We also reported disease causes, symptoms and pathologies manifestations within OCT images, which can serve as baseline knowledge for development of an automated CAD system. Hence, this disease specific review offers a good understanding to analyze visual impairments from retinal OCT images which will help researcher to design enhanced therapeutic systems for retinal disorders.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a brain tumor segmentation and classification method for multi-modality magnetic resonance imaging scans. The data from multi-modal brain tumor segmentation challenge (MICCAI BraTS 2013) are utilized which are co-registered and skull-stripped, and the histogram matching is performed with a reference volume of high contrast. From the preprocessed images, the following features are then extracted: intensity, intensity differences, local neighborhood and wavelet texture. The integrated features are subsequently provided to the random forest classifier to predict five classes: background, necrosis, edema, enhancing tumor and non-enhancing tumor, and then these class labels are used to hierarchically compute three different regions (complete tumor, active tumor and enhancing tumor). We performed a leave-one-out cross-validation and achieved 88% Dice overlap for the complete tumor region, 75% for the core tumor region and 95% for enhancing tumor region, which is higher than the Dice overlap reported from MICCAI BraTS challenge.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a novel Route Maintenance scheme for IEEE 802.11 wireless mesh networks. Despite lack of mobility and energy constraints, reactive routing protocols such as AODV and DSR suffer from frequent route breakages in 802.11 based infrastructure wireless mesh networks. In these networks, if any intermediate node fails to successfully transmit a packet to the next hop node after a certain number of retransmissions, the link layer reports a transmission problem to the network layer. Reactive routing protocols systematically consider this as a link breakage (and therefore a route breakage). Transmission failures can be caused by a number of factors e.g. interference or noise and can be transient in nature. Frequent route breakages result in significant performance degradation. The proposed mechanism considers multiple factors to differentiate between links with transient transmission problems from those links which have permanent transmission problems and takes a coherent decision on link breakage. The proposed mechanism is implemented in AODV for single-radio single-channel mesh network and an extension is incorporated in multi-radio multi-channel scenarios. Simulation results show substantial performance improvement compared to classical AODV and local route repair schemes.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an efficient method implemented on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), DEMCMC-GPU, for multi-objective continuous optimization problems. The DEMCMC-GPU kernel is the DEMCMC algorithm, which combines the attractive features of Differential Evolution (DE) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) to evolve a population of Markov chains toward a diversified set of solutions at the Pareto optimal front in the multi-objective search space. With parallel evolution of a population of Markov chains, the DEMCMC algorithm is a natural fit for the GPU architecture. The implementation of DEMCMC-GPU on the pre-Fermi architecture can lead to a ~25 speedup on a set of multi-objective benchmark function problems, compare to the CPU-only implementation of DEMCMC. By taking advantage of new cache mechanism in the emerging NVIDIA Fermi GPU architecture, efficient sorting algorithm on GPU, and efficient parallel pseudorandom number generators, the speedup of DEMCMC-GPU can be aggressively improved to ~100.  相似文献
